Numb.
As in “No Christmas spirit, nada.” Wonder who gives me what as gift…
Sensitive sh*te
Lately, I’ve been getting pretty emotional over things. This would include my older blog, which I keep close at heart even if hosted on a restrictive and somewhat unfriendly platform: Yahoo! 360°. So I made a little puddle on the touchpad, scrolling down through my late late posts and thinking who I was back then. Am proud of what I found, which means they still got somewhat value…
Clip in mind
The Zen of Todoist:
Now is better than later.
Later is better than never.
Organized is better than messy.
Big things are composed by smaller things.
Smaller things are done by action.
Think like a person of action.
Act like a person of thought.
The beginning is half of every action.
The longest journey starts with the first step.
Everything should be made as simple as possible.
But not simpler.
Celebrate any progress.
Don’t wait to get perfect.
Deadlines and stress are a part of life.

Let it never be said/ Romance is dead…
Have we lost as much as the ability to make a sympathetic gesture?
To lean onto someone who needs a hug for warmth? To pinch a mate when they are on the wrong track and show them our support while backing them up? To be sensitive and emotional even in the middle of a business crisis?
Want that spirit back.
Knock-knock? Web 3.0 here!
This web 2.0 bubble of crap is going to crack real soon.
UPDATE: Jason Calacanis has a definition of the web 3.0 for you, eCostin. :)
Get involved!
Great initiative from the Realitatea-Caţavencu group: www.AvemCuCe.ro to support the talented kids of Romania. It only lacks publicity and people willing to contribute. So get your hands on PayPal to start decorating that Christmas tree, and altruism won’t just be another word in the Merriam-Webster.

There goes kharma.
Sensing a bit of rust on my copywriting skills.
Wondering if the New Year will bring in some boost.
Feeling the need to share a coffee with a friend I haven’t met yet.
Trying to cope with what my life’s becoming.
Long live the queen!
My former domain has been hacked.
Last week, I decided to give up womanchild85 DOT blogspot DOT com and turn it into womanchildisdead.blogspot.com, to announce my moving to a new blog address. Someone with a wicked mind thought it would be cool to turn womanchild85 into a suitable place for… porn. They duplicated my template and took out one post to put on display, then placed some adult finder and… voila! you’ve got content. I have a name in mind and deeper implications that go along, but will leave it at that. NOT worth my time.
So here’s a disclaimer: I DECLINE ANY INVOLVEMENT WITH THAT SITE and will no longer sign anything on blogspot.com under this nickname. Womanchild IS dead and so it will stay. I moved the content of my former blog in here. As soon as I get some time, I’ll fix the listing plus edit or remove some older posts.

Is Social Media killing our society?
One thing I realized that I didn’t need a confirmation on, which became really obvious in the past few weeks: Social Media have one major problem. They relinquish users from real life* and immerse them in a virtual customized space that supplies their needs but is incapable to quench the thirst for more.
People who use MySpace or Facebook or Twitter or Upcoming or whatever social networking tool - have the same basic needs: to connect with other people who - because of distance or other communication barriers - they cannot reach in real life. Or to have those friends they cannot meet anymore - ‘cuz of a messy schedule - close at hand (my case!).
But in their desperate need of trying to cope with reality’s challenges, users become transfixed and sometimes get so deep into “socializing” that even when the opportunity presents itself, they can’t have coffee with a friend as they’re too busy updating profiles or twitting about adding up followers.
Don’t know how we’re gonna solve this. I guess it’s up to each and everyone to set a limit on how much time these social apps can eat a day.
