Bits & bites

There will always be a market for bullshit.

Is there anyone out there not tired of the Internet, of the way we use it to manipulate (ok, influence) and sell and “grow your business”? Does anyone use Internet for positive change anymore? And what is positive and negative? What’s Good and Bad? Personally, I am tired of (Romanian) Online Bullshit.

Nice country. Too bad it’s populated.

Well, I wanna see more of the nice side of Romania. Really. I wanna see it everywhere, not just here. I am tired of Romania as we know it and see it every single day. I am tired to see empty pocket average people alongside convertibles and 4-hooks suited gens, see f*cked up teenagers with no future alongside shmuks with attitude, see poverty across from luxury and kitsch-packed shopping venues (aka the malls).

What biggie did the NATO Summit do?

It scared off a quarter of Bucharest’s population that flee for 4 days to the countryside or in the mountains, fed paranoia to the masses and the whole country chewed on a Bush-Basescu meet too glam and pompous, full of sore fat lies. Then, we paid kids to wipe out tables upon feeding a crowd of journalists and congratulated ourselves on yet another thing well done…

I’m ashamed to the bone!

We barely got out of the communist era to get another shovel of mud straight in the face. I can see potential springing everywhere. And then I see a handful of people who might really turn it into something good. But the vast majority (unfortunatelly yet) is made of crooks…

  1. Honestly I’m starting to see Romanian getting out of the mud and into real life. Salaries continue to grow, foreign businesses (not just very big and renown ones) move in and the general life is just getting nicer. Of course we still have our issues with the medical and educational systems in particular and with the general service attitude we are forced to endure but I hope that they will rise soon.

The only thing I kind of regret is the almost imminent leave for UK I’m going to have to take, possibly for good; on the other hand, I’m just going to be a tourist in my home-country and I’m going to be able to judge things more objectively than right now.

  2. unfortunately, you’re one of the good people leaving. hopefully, it will be better for your long-term goals. i wish you can change things from a distance, even by influencing UK people to look on the bright side of what Romania really has to offer.

my post is a tad too gloomy, just like the weather. maybe for the pissing that we had to take yet again from foreign officials. oh well, all’s good that ends good. and we still got time.

  3. Summitul NATO pur si simplu m-a lasat rece.
